Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis, or OA, is the most common form of arthritis, usually affecting older people but seen as well in younger people.

Osteoarthritis is often degenerative, caused by “wear and tear” and loss of the cushioning cartilage in the joints. In some patients inflammation from the immune system can be seen.

There are currently no medications to prevent the progression of joint damage in osteoarthritis. We develop comprehensive strategies to treat joint pain for each patient. This includes:

  • On-site Physical Therapy focusing on strengthening the joints. Our physical therapists work one on one with each patient to optimize sessions.
  •  Ultrasound Guided Joint Injections–  Dr. Arnold and her PA perform all steroid and gel joint injections under ultrasound guidance to ensure proper placement and optimal pain relief.
  • Nutrition and Supplements Recommendations

For more information on OA, we recommend visiting the National Institutes of Health or contact us for an appointment.
