Dr Arnolds
Dr. William Arnold and Dr. Erin Arnold
We are both board certified Rheumatologists who provide innovative care to patients with arthritis in an optimistic, professional and compassionate environment. Our commitment to our patients is reflected in our work with both the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and the Arthritis foundation(AF) as well as other organizations in our community.

Dr. William has served on the board of directors of the ACR and was chairman of the medical and scientific committee of the Arthritis Foundation (Illinois chapter). In 2005 he received the AF Freedom of Movement Award recognizing his commitment to arthritis research. He was also the Chief Medical Editor of the AF’s Guide to Alternative Therapies.

He is however, most proud of his recognition by the Wilmette Rotary with the George C. Fisher Humanitarian of the year award in 1992, which he shares with two other Illinois Bone and Joint Institute partners, Gerald M. Eisenberg, MD and Wayne M. Goldstein, MD.

In 2003 Dr. Erin joined her father Dr. William at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute(IBJI). Dr. Erin was recognized in 2005 by Chicago Magazine as one of the city’s New Ground Breaking Physicians. She was faculty speaker for the Women in Rheumatology symposium sponsored by the ACR. Dr. Erin speaks on a regular basis to the community on behalf of the AF.  Dr. Erin was the first American Rheumatologist to be trained in Diagnostic and Interventional Musculoskeletal Ultrasound during her fellowship at UCLA.

Our Nurse Practitioners
Dr Arnolds
Connie Barnard NP-C and Laura B. Sasicki NP-C

In the summer of 2009, we had the opportunity to add two Nurse Practitioners to our office. A Nurse Practitioner (NP) must be a registered nurse (RN) who then returns for University training in advanced practice nursing. NPs subsequently obtain a distinctive license from the nursing board. Connie and Laura contribute monthly articles to our Health eCorner– please visit this section to read about current joint-related topics.

Laura B. Sasicki NP-C
Laura worked as a RN for nine years with Advocate Healthcare. She spent 4 years on the Orthopedic unit at Lutheran General Hospital and 5 years as a Home Health Care Visiting Nurse prior to obtaining her certification as a Nurse Practitioner. She holds a Bachelors and Masters of Science with a Major in Nursing from North Park University in Chicago. Laura has been recognized for her achievements in the CBS 2 “Salute to Nurses” campaign, as well as worked to help impact health care policy in our state and nation as a member of the Advocate Nursing Advocacy Council.

Connie Barnard NP-C
Connie joined Illinois Bone and Joint Institute after working at Silver Cross Hospital as a registered nurse in the Postpartum unit. Connie also graduated from North Park University with both a Bachelors (with Honors) and Masters of Science with a Major in Nursing (with Distinction).

Both Laura and Connie are members of the American College of Rheumatology and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Together with seven other Rheumatologists (Drs. Bello, Eisenberg, Kothari, Moran, Meyers, Skosey and Schuette) we are part of a thriving medical practice in the suburbs of Chicago, with the respected Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, a multi-site physician group dedicated to the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.
